The EV Drive Line Simulator, developed by Ecosense, is a comprehensive Electric Vehicle Lab for EV’s Drive Train Technology. It includes all the essential components of an EV drivetrain, providing a complete, real-world simulation of EV performance and operation. The simulator encompasses:

  1. Battery Pack: Represents the energy storage system, simulating the behavior of lithium-ion batteries used in modern EVs.
  2. Electric Motor: Converts simulated electrical energy into mechanical energy, driving the wheels in the simulator environment.
  3. Power Electronics: Manages the flow of electrical energy, simulating the role of inverters, converters, and controllers in an actual EV.
  4. Transmission: Provides a realistic representation of the single-speed transmission commonly used in EVs.

Defining Feature of EDLS

Ecosense’s EV Drive Line simulator software has four modes of operations:

  1. IDC mode: Using this mode user can simulate Indian Drive Cycle which is an essential testing cycle for testing Cars in India.
  1. Table Mode: Using this mode a user can simulate EV by providing customized table parameters such as speed, time ramp up ramp down etc.
  1. Simulated Mode: Using this mode user can upload an Excel sheet of any drive cycle and simulate driving conditions.
  1. Manual Mode: Using this mode user can drive the simulator manually by increasing or decreasing the speed manually.
